World Cup 2010 soccer stats as art


During a tournament as packed with activity as the World Cup, it can be difficult to keep track of event details. Luckily, graphic designer Michael Deal created these visually-pleasing infographics to help bring the soccer data from South Africa to life. In the image above, for example, the green lines represent  successful passes. The blue triangles represent shots on net. And the red circles represent goals. It’s funny that the graphic looks a lot like a heart rate monitor given that the games have been keeping hearts racing around the world since the tournament began a few weeks ago.
