Miniskirts to be banned in Italian town


The year was 1961…wait, no, it’s 2010, and Castellammare di Stabia is cracking down on the moral degradation of society by banning miniskirts. Mayor Luigi Bobbio is only the latest mayor to:
“…make use of the extra powers handed down by Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi's government to mayors, in the effort to fight crime and confront anti social behaviour.”
If all the bans being proposed to the city council are approved, citizens and visitors will no longer be able to bare their thighs, play football in public areas, wear low-cut jeans, sunbath, or blaspheme.
Thank goodness Italy doesn’t have to worry about their politicians setting a bad example.
